Be Frequent

Be Frequent in Your Life

Being frequent means filling your life with reoccurring actions of purpose. Actions that result in the outcomes you want, better stated, positive results.

Being frequent with the right behaviors takes preparation and practice. To achieve positive results, you must first determine the right behaviors you want to repeat. Second, you need to practice those behaviors. And finally, you need to condition your mind to believe in the results you want.
Here’s an exercise you can do on your own. Let’s call it the science of dissecting the family tree of your behaviors.

1. Write down five negative experiences that have happened to you in the last six months.
2. Next to each negative experience, list the action or behavior that caused the problem.
3. To the right of the cause, identify what thought created the problem.

Do you see a pattern?

Now that you have identified some of the root causes of your negative experiences, do the same exercise for five positive experiences that have happened in the last six months.

The goal of the exercise is for you to recognize the frequency of your thoughts and actions. The top half of the page should show you the negative pattern. The bottom half should illustrate that acting with positive thoughts provides a frequency of positive results.

Personal Action Plan

For one month, be frequent in all of your communication.
Envision the results you want from the communication and set up a repeatable plan to achieve those results and practice them.

Communicating with your customers doesn’t always mean bringing a product or solution to the conversation. Your customers are people too. Be their friend. Asks questions about each individual, and listen to his or her answers. Don’t separate who you are from what you do for a living. The thoughts you're practicing create the actions that bring out your best for everyone to see.

At the end of the month, dissect the family tree of your behaviors again. This time work from thought to outcome. Follow the results from your communication with each person for the month. Under each action, write down what you felt about the action you took.

Do you like what you’re seeing?

Extra Credit:

Be frequent in all of your personal thoughts and actions to create the experiences you desire. Again, think about the desired outcome and create a repeatable plan to achieve those results. What will you do to change someone’s life in a positive way? Will you give money and gifts or would you perform personal acts of kindness, generosity, and encouragement?
